Canadian Minister of International Development and WHO Representative Visit Istiklal Hospital

A High-Level Visit Affirming Confidence in the Quality of Medical Services Provided by Istiklal Hospital in Line with International Standards

Istiklal Hospital welcomed a high-level Canadian and international delegation, including His Excellency Mr. Randeep Sarai, Canada’s Minister of International Development, His Excellency Mr. Louis-Martin Aumais, Ambassador of Canada to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Dr. Iman Al-Shanqiti, World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Jordan. The visit aimed to check on a number of patients receiving medical treatment and care at the hospital and to gain first-hand insight into the level of healthcare services provided to them.

The visit provided an important opportunity for the delegation to learn more about Istiklal Hospital’s experience in delivering comprehensive medical care to humanitarian cases. The delegation met with pediatric patients, checked on their health conditions and treatment progress, and reviewed the efforts of the medical and nursing teams in following up on their cases and providing the necessary care within a therapeutic environment that adheres to the highest standards of quality and patient safety.

During the visit, members of the delegation expressed their appreciation and gratitude to Istiklal Hospital and its medical, nursing, and administrative teams for the services and care provided to patients. They praised the advanced level of medical services and the efforts made to ensure healthcare is delivered in accordance with professional and international standards.

The visit carries particular significance in light of Istiklal Hospital’s achievements in quality and international accreditation. The hospital has been awarded Accreditation Canada’s Diamond Level accreditation for the second consecutive time, the highest level of accreditation, reflecting its continued commitment to applying international standards of quality, patient safety, and excellence in healthcare delivery.

The visit by Canada’s Minister of International Development, the Canadian Ambassador, and the WHO Representative in Jordan also reflects the international attention given to healthcare services provided to humanitarian cases. It further strengthens Istiklal Hospital’s position as a trusted Jordanian healthcare institution capable of providing medical care in accordance with international standards and managing cases requiring advanced levels of specialized care.

Istiklal Hospital continues to uphold its mission as a trusted Jordanian medical institution, combining international quality with a strong humanitarian commitment, while placing patients’ health and safety at the forefront of its priorities.
